The 5th edition of FICX-Paris took place at the Carreau du Temple on Saturday-Sunday, September 15-16, 2018.
The aim of the International Forum of Contemporary Knives is to develop the renown of custom knives in the current creative movement by opening up and expanding custom knife making to a new public fond of quality creative objects.
FICX-Paris’ gamble is to represent worldwide knife making in all its diversity and cultural particularities. 20 nationalities were represented.
For the Heritage Days, FICX-Paris has chosen to present an exhibition of Academician Swords.
The visitors could admire among others the sword of the current chancellor of the French Institute and former minister Xavier Darcos, the sword of the architect Alain-Charles Perrot known for his restaurations of the Grand Palais & the Opéra Garnier, or the sword of Astrid de La Forest recently elected at the Academy of Beaux-Arts.
